I bought this laptop a few years ago, and since then, upgraded from XP (originally installed OS), to Vista, then Windows 7, and now because of a problem I was having with Dell drivers I've just put it back to XP so I can find drivers I need.Īfter I installed XP, I noticed I had no volume option in the bottom right hand corner, and whenever I get an alert it does that old school BIOS beep which I have no control over it's volume.Įverytime I turn the laptop on I get a "Found New Hardware" Wizard, and when I tell it to install the hardware it ends saying "An error occurred during the installation of the device.
